Christine and David are a wonderful couple who share a love of animals and became a special couple for me when they asked if they could bring their dogs Storm and Shea on their engagement shoot (I said yes of course). They had a beautiful candlelit ceremony and fun reception and I had a great time photographing my final wedding of 2012!

It was a lot of fun getting to know this couple and seeing them together on their wedding day! There were a lot of special moments throughout the day and it was an honor to be able to capture a few of them.

Here are some of my favorite images for Kristen and Derek's Wedding at Remi in New York City. We also got to take some photos in DUMBO in Brooklyn, NY prior to the ceremony. It was a bit of adventure with a little rain (just enough be lucky I like to think) and a little extra traffic on the way back but everything went smoothly and it was a great day for the couple and all their guests.

This was a very fun wedding with a brief moment of tension during the reception when one of the female guests got into an intense dance off with one of the ring bearers.

Here are some of my favorite images from Kelly and Spencer's Wedding at the Lee Fendall House in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. It is always nice to visit the Northern Virginia/DC area where I used to live and I really liked the Southern style of this wedding, which was evident in the details, the signature drinks, and supported by a strong contingent of southerners.

Here are a few of my favorite images from Michelle and Andrew's Wedding at the Midtown Loft and Terrace in Manhattan. This wedding had a rooftop ceremony with fantastic views of the city, two very animated ring bearers, and a couple of astrophysicists who answered a few of my black hole questions but left me with many more. And that is just a couple notable elements from the day!

Here are some of my favorite images from Katie and Ben's wedding at the Mountain Lakes House in Princeton, NJ. This was really great location for a wedding and I wish I had arrived a couple hours early just so I could have taken pictures of all the turtles, birds and other wildlife on the grounds. I also got some great help from the guests at this wedding with an event planner friend of the bride gathering everyone for all the formals and the flower girl who appointed herself to be my assistant for a portion of the reception! Now on to the pictures!

This past week I got a call from a woman who wanted to get some pictures of her parents. They got married in St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Borough Park, Brooklyn on May 26, 1946 shortly after her father returned from serving in World War II. That is 66 years of marriage and they have been sweethearts for 71 years. They were clearly still very much in love and it was fun to watch their interactions. It wasn't easy picking just one picture from the session but I thought this one captured the two of them well.

Here are a few of my favorite images from Alyssa and Ian's Wedding at the Timber Point Country Club in Great River, NY. This was a daytime wedding and that usually means that the reception has less dancing than for an evening wedding but that was not the case with this crowd. Many of the guests also went out of their way to tell me about what nice people the bride and groom were. I pretty much think all my couples are fantastic as I did with Ian and Alyssa but they may be even a little more special than most.

Here are a few images from Lillian and Jason's Wedding at the Bear Mountain Inn's Overlook Lodge in Bear Mountain, NY. Lillian and Jason were one of the first couples I have worked with since moving to Brooklyn that could quite easily walk over to see me. At first, I felt this would add some pressure to do a great job on their pictures but after getting to know them I am glad they are nearby so I can see them again from time to time. We also discovered that one of Lillian's bridesmaids is my cousin about a week before the wedding. She is the one reading 50 Shades of Grey in the slideshow.

This week's photo of the week comes from Katie and Ben's wedding at the Mountain Lakes House in Princeton, NJ. This image is from Katie's dance with her father. This is always a very touching part of a wedding day to witness and I think this image conveys that well. I made this image using my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens at a focal length of 195mm at an aperture of f/2.8, exposure time of 1/250th of a second and ISO 1250. I also used off camera flash in capturing this image.

This was a very touching wedding with a wonderful couple that are clearly very much in love with each other. This past weekend, I actually went to a wedding as a guest. Well mostly as a guest...the bride for this wedding is my fiancé's sister and since the photographer for her wedding was not going to be on the party bus, I wanted to take a few pictures of that part of the day. The bride and the bridesmaid on the left were actually already featured in my photo week from January 25, 2010, another party bus image. I made this image using my Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 lens at a focal length of 18mm, aperture of f/2.8, exposure of 1/250th of a second at ISO 6400.

This past weekend I photographed Kerri and James' Wedding at the Harbor Links Country Club in Port Washington, NY. The weather added a dramatic touch to the day as we had a few thunderstorms that at times forced us inside but they subsided in time to have the outdoor ceremony that everyone was hoping for. In the end, it was a fun day filled with emotion and the sort of moments I love to photograph. Here are a few of the images from the day.

I recently got to photograph my Aunt Jane's wedding at the Riverview Caterers in Westchester, NY. We also took some pictures earlier in the day at The Tarrytown House Estate where the bride and groom got ready for the day and saw each other for the first time. The bride and groom are both avid fans of Karaoke and so that was a main element of the reception. I had never heard my aunt sing before and was pleased to discover she sounds nothing like me and is very talented! Here are a few images from the day.

This was a fun wedding that took us all over Brooklyn and offered some really neat scenery. Having an adventurous and expressive couple was a great plus as well.

The other day I had a rare opportunity to just take pictures with no assignment. This was one of the pictures I took of the Brooklyn Bridge. I made this image using my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II lens at a focal length of 130mm, an aperture of f/4.0, and 1/640th of a second at ISO 100.

I made this image just before the bride's father gave her away. I made this image using my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II lens at a focal length of 185mm, aperture of f/2.8, and exposure of 1/400th of a second at ISO 3200.

This week's photo of the week comes from Katie and Wasyl's wedding at The Milleridge Inn in Jericho, NY. This was a daytime reception and there was great light coming through the window during the reception. With a little help from the bride's sister we got her two children to sit on the windowsill for a moment. Once there I just let them do their own thing and got some great images of their interaction. This was my favorite. I made this image using my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 lens at an aperture of f/4.0 and exposure of 1/500th of a second at ISO 800.

This past weekend I shot Stephanie and John's wedding at Westbury Manor on Long Island. The ceremony and reception were during the day, which resulted in some nice natural light coming through the windows where the guestbook happened to be situated. I made this image of one of the wedding guests writing a note to the bride and groom using my 85 mm f/1.4 lens at an aperture of f/2.8 and exposure of 1/80th of a second at ISO 800.

On New Year's Eve, I photographed the Andrea and Harry's wedding at Danford's Hotel and Marina in Port Jefferson, NY. It could also be said that I went to a really fun party and brought my camera along and it would not be all that inaccurate! For me, this image really captured the festive atmosphere of the wedding. I made this image with my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens at a focal length of 70mm, an aperture of f/2.8, exposure of 1/30th of a second, and ISO 1600. For this shot, I used my SB900 Flash on camera in TTL mode with the diffuser dome and feathered one setting back from straight up. Use of the flash allows me to use such a slow shutter speed and still get a sharp image.
