Photo of the Week 11/28/11

I have been doing sports photography for Farmingdale State College over the last few months and decided to choose one of these image for this week's photo of the week. Here Farmingdale Junior Forward AJ Matthews (5) fights for one of his 19 rebounds in Farmingdale's 66-57 win over Baruch College. Matthews also had 27 points and 8 blocks in the game and earned Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the Skyline Conference. I made this image using my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens at a focal length of 135 mm, aperture of f/2.8 and exposure of 1/800th of a second at ISO 6400.

Farmingdale went on to consecutive wins against West Islip (10-9 in overtime) and Shenendehowa (14-10) to advance to the Class A New York State High School Championship where they defeated Ithaca High School today (12-11 with the winning goal coming 42 seconds into overtime).
