Photo of the Week 8/23/10

I captured this image at the August 21st wedding of Christina and Nick as they emerged from the church into bubbles blown by the friends and family that witnessed the wedding. As with many of my other images of the couple, the excitement and happiness of the day was readily evident in their expressions. For this image, I used my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 lens at an aperture of f/5.0 and exposure of 1/250th of a second at ISO of 100.

Photo of the Week 8/16/10

I recently photographed the wedding of a wonderful couple, Justin and Beth. I always enjoy finding candid moments at weddings and at this one there were plenty. This shot was taken at the start of the reception held at a family farm in Millerton, NY. This image was made with my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens at a focal length of 170mm and aperture of f/2.8 and shutter speed of 1/320th of a second at ISO of 100.

Some of my favorite photos are the spontaneous ones of everyday events. This image of my nephew at the celebration of his second birthday falls in that category. This image was captured with my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 lens at an aperture of f/3.5 and exposure of 1/80th of a second at ISO of 800.

I recently got away for a short vacation on Brantingham Lake in upstate New York and was fortunate enough to wake up early enough to capture this sunrise at exactly 6:00am, while I was there. This image is an HDR photo made at an aperture of f/8.0 and ISO of 100 using my versatile Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 lens.
